A public log of every substantive error we’ve made and fixed.
Why this page exists
Most websites correct mistakes silently, if at all. We publish ours. A site about government benefits asks you to act on what it says — and the only honest way to earn that is to show you our record, including the parts that aren’t flattering.
How corrections work here
What gets logged. Any error that affected the accuracy of information a reader might have acted on: a wrong income figure, an outdated rule, an incorrect application link, a device listed as available that isn’t, a mischaracterised eligibility requirement.
What doesn’t get logged. Typos, broken links, formatting fixes, rewording for clarity, and routine scheduled updates — like the annual February refresh of income limits, which is a normal update rather than a correction.
How fast. Confirmed errors are corrected as soon as we’ve verified the correct information against a primary source, usually the same day. The log entry goes up at the same time as the fix.
What we don’t do. We don’t delete a page to make an error disappear, and we don’t quietly edit a factual mistake out without recording it. If a page was wrong, the record of it being wrong stays here.
Significant corrections are marked on the page itself, with a dated note near the relevant section, for at least 90 days after the fix.

If you’ve found something on this site that’s wrong, out of date, or misleading, please tell us. Reader reports are the fastest way we catch problems.

We check every report against a primary source before acting on it. You’ll get a reply either way, including if we look into it and conclude the page was right. Corrections are welcome even when they’re inconvenient for us; that’s rather the point.

Log format
Each entry follows this structure, so you can see exactly what changed:
